In 2007, the statue made the top 7 New Wonders of the World. Though many the tourist have been confused at the actual size of the statue (a little under half the height of the Statue of Liberty) they have never been disappointed at the journey and the rewarding panoramic views. During the night, watch the city come alive and experience the magic and energy of the Carioca lifestyle on a landscape painted by light. Turn around and you are in for a pleasant surprise. Go ahead and lay down under the glowing statue of Jesus, after all, everyone else is.
